What it does

Guacamole math starts at avocados per guest. One fruit per three guests keeps bowls full without brown leftovers.

The tool above divides the crowd by three. Twelve guests need 4 avocados with 4 tbsp of lime and 1 tsp of salt. The metric match is 60 ml with 5 ml.

Lime runs a tablespoon per avocado. Acid seasons and slows browning for hours of green serving.

Salt runs a quarter teaspoon each. Under salting flattens avocado richness fast.

Ripe fruit decides all. Yielding unblemished flesh mashes creamy, while hard or stringy fruit never quite gets there.

How to use

  1. Pick imperial (tbsp, tsp) or metric (ml).
  2. Enter guests.
  3. Read avocados first.
  4. Read lime next, then salt.
  5. Read counts and mash chunky.

Formula

Avocados = ceil(guests / 3). Lime tbsp = avocados. Salt tsp = avocados x 0.25.

Metric runs 15 ml lime per tbsp and 5 ml salt per tsp with matching avocado counts.

Worked example

Example: 12 guests

  3. Lime: 4 x 1 = 4 tbsp.
  4. Salt: 4 x 0.25 = 1 tsp.

Try it yourself

Quick checks. Answers sit tucked under each question.

6 guests?

ceil(6 / 3) = 2 avocados. Lime is 2 tbsp. Salt is 2 x 0.25 = 0.5 tsp.

30 guests?

ceil(30 / 3) = 10 avocados. Lime is 10 tbsp. Salt is 10 x 0.25 = 2.5 tsp.
