What it does

Taco bars scale cleanly. Counts times fillings give meat and cheese with no guesswork at the grill.

The tool above multiplies guests by appetite. Twenty guests at 3 each need 60 tacos with 7.5 lb of meat and 30 oz of cheese. The metric match is 3.4 kg with 850 g.

Appetite bands guide the middle. Two each suit snack tables, 3 suit dinners, and 4 plus suit hungry crowds with big shells.

Meat runs two ounces per taco cooked. Seasoned ground beef, chicken, or pork all portion the same, with shells warmed to hold.

Cheese dusts at half an ounce each. Shredded cheddar and cotija split bowls, with salsas beside.

How to use

  1. Pick imperial (lb, oz) or metric (kg, g).
  2. Enter guests.
  3. Enter tacos each: 3 suits dinners.
  4. Read tacos first.
  5. Read meat next.
  6. Read cheese and warm shells.

Formula

Tacos = guests x each. Meat lb = tacos x 2 oz / 16. Cheese oz = tacos x 0.5.

  3. Meat: 60 x 2 oz / 16 = 7.5 lb.
  4. Cheese: 60 x 0.5 oz / 16 = 1.9 lb after rounding (1.875).

Common mistakes

  • Planning snack counts for dinner crowds.
  • Cold shells that crack.
  • One salsa heat for all.
  • No spares for broken shells.
  • Holding meat lukewarm for hours.

Try it yourself

Quick checks. Answers sit tucked under each question.
