What it does
Net levels fields by subtracting course handicap from gross. A 90 with 18 plays net 72, even with a scratch 72. Same net, different gross.
The tool above takes gross, handicap, and par and returns net, net to par, and gross to par. The defaults 90, 18, and 72 match the worked example, so the page opens showing 72 (E).
Net is gross minus handicap. To par subtracts par with E at zero, plus over, minus under. Here net 72 on par 72 is E, while gross sits +18.
Use this for club games and flights. Slope, rating, and hole handicaps allocate strokes per hole for match play beyond total net.

Worked example
Example: gross 90, handicap 18, par 72
Ninety gross with eighteen strokes on par 72. Find net.
- Net: 90 minus 18 = 72.
- To par: 72 minus 72 = 0, so E.
- Gross to par: 90 minus 72 = +18.
- Tool shows 72, E, +18.
- Check: 72 + 18 = 90 gross.
- Prizes use net, handicap uses gross.
