What it does

Coffee spending hides in daily increments: a few dollars feels like nothing until twelve months stack it into thousands. Cups per day times price per cup times days gives the honest total.

The tool above takes cups a day with price per cup. It returns daily, monthly (30 day), and yearly totals side by side.

The default of 2 cups at $4.50 costs $9.00 a day, $270.00 a month, and $3,285.00 a year. Brewing the same two at home near $0.70 each drops the year under $511.

Spending patterns follow National Coffee Association consumption data with USDA coffee market references behind supply. Both show daily cafe habits as a top discretionary line for drinkers.

How to use

  1. Enter cups per day honestly, including refills.
  2. Enter the average price per cup you pay.
  3. Read daily first for the small number.
  4. Read yearly for the real budget line.
  5. Price home brewing beside it before deciding.

Formula

Daily = cups x price. Monthly = daily x 30. Yearly = daily x 365.
cups
Average cups actually drunk daily.
price
Average dollars per cup paid.
30 / 365
Month and year day counts used.

Zero cups always reads zero across the board. Irregular weeks average first: five workdays of two cups is 10/7 = 1.43 a day here.

Worked example

Example: 2 cups at $4.50

Defaults: 2 cups a day, $4.50 each.

  1. Daily: 2 x 4.50 = $9.00.

  3. Yearly: 9 x 365 = $3,285.00.
  4. Home check: 2 x 0.70 x 365 = $511.00.
  5. Tool shows $9.00, $270.00, $3,285.00.
