What it does

Softball diamonds share one constant with four pitching answers: 60 ft bases everywhere, then 35, 40, or 43 ft to the rubber by division. Lining the wrong level builds bad habits into young arms.

The tool above takes division with field count in feet or meters. It returns bases, pitching, and the diamond count with ball size.

The default Majors diamond reads 60 ft bases with 40 ft pitching and a 12 in ball. The Minors pair reads the same 60 ft bases with 35 ft pitching and an 11 in ball.

Little League specifications set the youth ladder from Minors coach pitch through Junior Senior ball near 200 ft fences. High school comparisons hold 60 ft bases with 43 ft pitching for fastpitch.

Count diamonds for complexes, then paint per level: fence boards, pitching rubbers, and ball bins all follow the division, not the grass available.

How to use

  1. Pick feet or meters.
  2. Pick the division.
  3. Type the field count.
  4. Read bases first.
  5. Read pitching beside it.
  6. Read diamonds and ball last.

Formula

Bases 60 ft all levels. Pitching 35/40/43 ft by division. Ball 11 in Minors, 12 in above.
division
Minor, Majors, Junior Senior, high school.
bases
Base paths in ft.
pitching
Rubber to plate in ft.

Little League field specifications fix 60 ft bases across softball with pitching at 35 Minors, 40 Majors, and 43 Junior Senior, plus fence guidance near 200 ft. NFHS softball comparisons mirror 60 ft bases with 43 ft pitching for high school. Metric mirrors multiply feet by 0.3048.

  • Pitching Majors from 43 ft.
  • Buying 12 in balls for Minors.
  • Lining baseball 90 ft by habit.
  • Skipping fence boards for fly balls.
  • Mixing divisions on one diamond.
